I am ethically obligated to refer clients out if treatment issues seem to necessitate a higher level of care than I am able to offer or are outside the scope of my practice. This can come up with issues like having a high level of suicide risk, self-injury, or severe and persistent mental illness in cases such as psychosis or delusional disorders. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is disrespectful to this provider.
